BOOST MOBILE BECOMES NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER OF RACE TASMANIA
The upcoming Race Tasmania event has welcomed Boost Mobile as naming rights partner of the event’s inaugural running next month, to be known as Boost Mobile Race Tasmania.
Celebrating 20 years since it was founded in 2000, Boost Mobile is a leading provider of prepaid mobile telecommunications in Australia and the USA.
Naming rights of Race Tasmania – the first national level circuit racing event of 2021 and the first in Tasmania for almost two years – is the latest addition to Boost Mobile’s diverse portfolio of brand partnerships, which includes a variety of athlete and team partnerships in motorsport.
Boost Mobile Race Tasmania will open a new season for four of Australia’s most exciting racing categories, specifically the TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, National Trans Am Series and Touring Car Masters.
Renowned for standing out from the crowd and committed to ‘keeping Aussie youth connected’, Boost Mobile’s new partnership with Race Tasmania is a logical alignment, with the event’s dynamic line-up of racing categories featuring some of Australia’s hottest and emerging young talents.
Boost Mobile also offers one of the most accessible and reliable prepaid mobile services available to Tasmanians, through expansive coverage from the full Telstra Mobile Network.
Boost Mobile Race Tasmania will comprise two events in the north and south of Tasmania – the first featuring championship races for all four categories at Launceston’s Symmons Plains Raceway from January 24-26, culminating on Australia Day (Tuesday). The Symmons Plains event will be televised live and free across Australia on the screens of the Seven Network, including its 7plus video on-demand service.
Three days later (January 29-31), drivers and teams from the TCR Australia and Trans Am categories will bring national level motorsport back to the historic Baskerville Raceway in Hobart for a series of special, stand-alone races which will also include demonstration laps for S5000 and a range of local support categories sure to entertain Tasmanian racegoers.
Boost Mobile Race Tasmania will be broadcast live from Symmons Plains Raceway on 7mate, with two hours of coverage on Monday, January 25 from 3:30pm-5:30pm AEDT followed by a packed five hours of racing on Tuesday between 11:00am-4:00pm AEDT.
QUOTES
Barry Rogers
Race Tasmania
“Boost Mobile is a brand that’s familiar to motorsport fans and of course my dad Garry and I know the Boost team well from their support of our race team in 2019,” said Rogers.
“While it was unfortunate that we couldn’t take that relationship further at the time, it’s great to know we can join forces again on something new and exciting with Race Tasmania.
“Obviously Boost is a leader in its field but importantly, Peter Adderton and Jason Haynes from Boost are passionate not just about building their brand but supporting and growing motorsport, particularly when it comes to youth and those who bring something new and different to the sport.
“They don’t have to do that, but it’s a credit that they do and there are a lot of similarities between why we’re both involved in racing and the way we go about it, so it is a great fit to have Boost Mobile on board with Race Tasmania – an event we’re putting on to bring more high quality motorsport to the state and to excite the passionate Tasmanian race fans.”
Peter Adderton
Founder & Director, Boost Mobile
“Boost Mobile is excited to be the naming rights partner of Race Tasmania and to once again be partnering with Garry and Barry Rogers. I have personally known Garry for over 20 years and know anything he turns his mind to will be successful. The fact that Barry Rogers is a key shareholder of ARG has given me further confidence that ARG’s categories have a very bright future.
“TCR and the other categories produce some of the best racing in Australia and the TCR cars are similar to the cars our youthful Boost customers likely drive. Boost looks forward to working with the team at ARG, Garry and Barry to help further the popularity of motorsport in Australia and bring in the next generation of motorsport fans. Also, as a mad keen mountain biker I can’t wait to visit Tasmania.”
Jason Haynes
General Manager, Boost Mobile Australia
“The opportunity for Boost Mobile to support ARG and become the naming rights partner of Race Tasmania not only continues our ongoing support of motorsport in Australia; it also provides a great opportunity to communicate to Australian consumers that Boost Mobile is on the Telstra network.
“If you either live in Tasmania or plan to visit in the future, Boost is a great option if you need to stay connected due to the superior geographical coverage we can deliver compared to other networks.”
