Schedules set for Tasman Series Street Fights

THE SCHEDULES for the pair of exciting street events that will comprise the S5000 Tasman Series have been locked away.

Six races will be held across the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and VALO Adelaide 500 to decide the winner, with both events featuring well-timed races and lots of opportunity in prime broadcast positions.

Both events are significant as they each represent the return of top-level open wheel racing to a pair of events based on international open-wheel competition.

IndyCar raced on the Gold Coast between 1991-2008 while Adelaide was Formula One’s Australian home between 1985-1995.

S5000 will race at both events for the first time as part of the two-round Tasman Series, while further high performance demonstrations will take place at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, in between the two street circuit events.

Action on the Gold Coast commences on Friday with a pair of practice sessions (11:15am and 2:05pm) prior to qualifying at 10:50am on Saturday.

The first race – the return of ‘big banger’ open wheelers to the Gold Coast for the first time since 2008 – will be held at 1:50pm Saturday.

Sunday’s races will see action completed before lunch time with race two set for 8:00am and the finale’ at 10:55.

The VALO Adelaide 500 will be held across four days with Thursday, December 1 reserved for a pair of practice sessions.

Friday, 2 December will see qualifying at 10:30am and the first race bring ‘wings and slicks’ cars back to Adelaide at 2:55pm.

One race each on Saturday (1:20pm) and Sunday (10:05) will complete the massive weekend.

Both events will include broadcast coverage on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports across all practice, qualifying and racing sessions.
