Herne sets record lap to grab Surfers Pole

His 1m09.6681s best did enough to secure him pole position in a constantly evolving session – that saw Herne’s top spot secured when a red flag flew in the second half.
It’s the first lap in the 69-second barrier since the circuit was shortened in 2010.
Cooper Webster was second for Versa Motorsport, however will face a race against time to make the opening race on Saturday afternoon after a hefty crash late in the session at Turn 3.
