Adelaide young-gun shows off debut S5000 livery

S5000 ROOKIE Brad Gartner has shown off his new colours ahead of his debut in the Tasman Series at the VALO Adelaide 500 this week.

Gartner, who made the transition from dirt track racing to bitumen circuits via Hyundai Excel and Trans Am / TA2 competition, will make his S5000 debut aboard a stunning car with major backing from VALO, Vircura, Monarto Innovation Precinct and IKARA.

“Competing at the VALO Adelaide 500 is a dream come true for me, my entire team and family,” Gartner said.

“A massive thank you to everyone that has made this work. I am looking forward to making my debut.”

The 19-year-old South Australian teenager hails from the rural town of Penloa, located in the Coonawarra wine region to Adelaide’s South East.

He started racing on the dirt at the Lucindale Dirt Kart Club before progressing to circuit racing via the increasingly popular Circuit Excel series, rapidly becoming a frontrunner in the highly competitive South Australian championship.

Gartner will be one of several promising young South Australian drivers to fly the flag in the S5000 Tasman Series this weekend, with fellow Adelaide teen Blake Purdie also making his return aboard a Nippy’s-backed car for Versa Motorsport.

Adelaide driver Mark Rosser will contest the Silver Star class, and will drive for Adelaide-based Team BRM.
