Star driver Oscar Piastri to race in Renault colours at Barcelona
Oscar Piastri will compete in the factory hues of Renault for Round 5 of the carsales ARG eSAport Cup at Barcelona tonight.
The 19-year-old Formula 1 aspirant will use a similar colour scheme to that of the Renault F1 team for his guest appearance in the online racing competition, to be held in Formula 3 cars around the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
After impressing in the Formula Renault EuroCup last year, Piastri was announced as part of the Renault Sport Academy in January, and has also been taken under the wing of former Australia F1 driver Mark Webber, signing with Webber’s Jam Sports Management.
Piastri is set to compete in FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing this year and is set to be a front-runner in tonight’s ARG eSport Cup at Barcelona, kicking off at 8pm AEST.
A total of 44 cars will compete in the event, including drivers from the Australian Racing Group’s suite of racing categories – from TCR Australia to S5000, Touring Car Masters, Trans Am and V8 Touring Cars. CLICK HERE for the full entry list.
