Joey Mawson bounces back to be fastest in Practice 2
Joey Mawson has bounced back from a frustrating first practice session to top the second S5000 practice session at Sandown today.
The Team BRM driver had a driveshaft fail in the first session, but a fast repair saw the Form 700-backed driver bounce back to the top of the times, narrowly edging out James Golding by just over 0.1s.
Mawson’s team-mate Thomas Randle was third fastest, ahead of Nathan Herne, Tim Macrow and Phillip Island race winner Cooper Webster.
Rounding out the top 10 was Luis Leeds, Ricky Capo, Kaleb Ngatoa and Antonio Astuti.
Qualifying will be held at 2:40pm AEDT.
