James Golding has paced the opening session of the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship title decider at Sydney Motorsport Park.

RESULTS: Practice 1

Luis Leeds was third for GRM, while Tim Macrow was less than a second off the pace in fourth.

Nathan Herne and Thomas Randle were fifth and sixth, respectively, while young Kiwi Kaleb Ngatoa was seventh.

Ricky Capo was eighth, however his Modena Engineering car stopped in sector two with three minutes remaining in the session, bringing out the red flag.

The S5000 field returns for a second 20-minute practice hit-out at 3:20pm local time before qualifying takes place in the twilight at 5:25pm.
